Pros and cons of Filer app for iPhone and iPad

Filer app good for

Less powerful but easier to use than GoodReader, and supports more archive formats.

It works but it would be better if it was able to transfer your files into your normal files like if you had a song then you transfer it off of the app onto your normal music then it would be 5 stars

Does exactly what I wanted it to. Download PDF from web and transfer it into iBook. Bingo!

REALLY good. Does what its supposed to do. But they still need an autosync for dropbox.

This lets me download whatever I want without a computer...which for me is a big thing...great app...but please update wait more features.

This little gem replaced 4 apps on my iPad. I can read documents, connect to Dropbox, access my personal web site to download my own music collection (or pictures, files, etc) on demand, access my files over 3G and wifi... Its really cool. FYI, I use a simple web server called hfs which allows me to download complete directories in .tar format, once downloaded by Filer I can unzip them to my iPad. Background music player works great too. Playlist and random play mode would be great in the future. 5 star app!

Some bad moments

It doesnt read any movie (mp4, m4v) since I am on 4.0 (iPod touch 3G)!!

I have synchronised my pictures (about 900) with itunes usb sync, and when Filer launch, it freezes then it crash -> Go back to home. This app doesnt work. (iphone 4 - 3.01)

What is this app good for, since I cant use the files on other Ipad app such as the ipod app? You will download the file and have to keep the app running otherwise the music will stop. hated it.

I tried, then bought it, used it, got problems and no answer to my support request. now all data is lost. due to a bug in the app with "non standard" characters in filenames (in my case ~ was the problem). my advice: look for something else

App is very useful and concept is good as well. Unfortunately the latest update made it impossible to open read and store files properly, which is the purpose. Dan doesnt react on splt screen complaints on left side. Good concept, rotten service, app doesnt work. Download something different!

Used to be nice. Since upgrade to iOS 6 I can no longer delete files. Therefore not useful.
